Volunteers are an essential part of the regular ambulance service. They provide an invaluable service every weekend and when needed during the week. Volunteer ambulance units currently operate in the Mitchell's Plain, False Bay, Hout Bay, Tygerberg and of course Table Bay areas.

New volunteers to the unit are welcome. They should be 18 years or older and have a level 5 or greater medical qualification. New volunteers will work for 120 hours as a third person on the ambulance before going on to work as a second person. All volunteers also need to register with the Ambulance Service as reservists.
